Trying to find something as ‘fresh and innovative’ as their 1994 Contract on America and scraping the bottom of the barrel to prove their relevancy, the Republicans have authored the new “A Pledge to America.” As the caption at the Daily Show site says: “Republicans do some soul-searching and come back with fresh new ideas that sound exactly like their old ones.”

Seems like some folks out there want Cheney in the White House. Yes, the same Cheney who was VP for 8 years.

The same Cheney who was such an awesome leader that he enabled the debt increase from $20,000 per person to $30,000 per person in a short 8 years.

The same Cheney who sat on his ass while someone was using planes as missiles.

It’s things like this that make you realize America is doomed. Let me bend over, sir, and give me more! Seriously, how fucking stupid do you have to be to support such a proposition as “Dick in 2012?”

Maybe we’ll get really lucky and he’ll break his $10,000 record and go for $15,000. What the hell does he care?

This whole stink raised by she-with-an-IQ-of-65 is ridiculous.

You know, comedians just can’t be worried about how those with extremely low IQ’s choose to interpret a joke that they tell.

Miss I-am-such-a-great-mother-that-both-of-my-adult-children-are-high-school-dropouts-and-one-of-them-was-knocked-up-at-17 should just accept the fact that SHE has made her family a national joke by dragging them into the spotlight as a means to show her “family values.” But she wants to get pissy at comedians, and blame them for making jokes about her.

She needs to accept responsibility for creating this situation instead of pointing fingers at others (a social conservative’s favorite past time).

Palin embodies much of what is wrong with America, and it’s time for people in this country to stop coddling the willfully-ignorant-and-proud. This is Palin’s base, and it’s people like this who are responsible for holding America back from evolving. When we start censoring comedy according to how it will be perceived by the ignorant-and-proud crowd, then we’re done. These people are a complete and total waste of time, and it’s time to stop letting these people slide. It’s time for American’s to take a stand and declare that willful ignorance IS NOT cool.

And why did Palin decide to pick on Letterman when all comedians have made jokes about this same subject matter (the subject matter being Palin’s failed parenting)? Well one must look no further than Letterman’s calling out of Mccain last election for blowing off his show in favor ‘rushing back to Washington to take care of the financial crisis’ when in fact he stayed in NY and gave an interview on another show.

Palin thinks Dave is one reason why she is not Vice President right now, and she is seeking revenge (which apparently is standard operating procedure according to Palin’s history.) So transparent. But not transparent to the ignorant-and-proud crowd, unfortunately.

So give Letterman a raise, for not being afraid to make jokes about someone who clearly deserves to be joked about. She’s a failure as a politician, a parent, and a human being. And a complete embarrassment to us females. Well, those of us with more than half a brain, anyway.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Obama and I understand what he is trying to do, but I have to admit that the whole time I was watching the speech I was a bit unsettled at the religious tone and all of the references to this text or that text – for the three monotheistic religions. The three religions that have caused so many problems for the past few thousand years. Pretty sad that it’s 2009 and we haven’t moved beyond this yet.

But I sure am glad to be living in a time when we have Jon Stewart and the writers at the Daily Show to call things out for what they are!

I’m sure the people on the left are real happy about this. I note the “For Sale” sign in the front yard.

What really can be said here?

Four stories next to a one story house. It just boggles the mind… One amusing note is that immediately behind this house is a large public school. Did they really think that someone was going to shell out this kind of money to live next door to an inner-city Atlanta public school? Busses coming and going all the time? I guess in their quest for mo money, they didn’t think too much.

You people have TRASHED this city. You have taken neighborhoods with character and turned them into eyesores. You have removed too many valuable trees that make this city worth living in. All because you want you some money. Well when you go financially bankrupt (you’re already morally bankrupt), just remember this – you deserve it.

And lets be clear – there are SOME, yes a handful of, developers who give a shit about their impact, and about how their “product” affects the character of the neighborhood. I am not referring to those developers. This rant is about you greedy ones with no class who construct uncharismatic product from inferior materials without regard to your neighbor.

Here’s an example of what I am talking about. Case study #1:

“My 1-story brick duplex is not fulfilling my greedy desire for ridiculous amounts of money, so I’ll tear it down and put up a 4-story, 2-unit structure that covers 90% of the surface area of the lot, so I can get me MO CASH.”

Look at this thing. 4-stories next to a 1-story house. Unacceptable. Now, look at what is on the other side of the 4-story monstrosity – why, it’s another 1-story house!

And here’s what really gets me about this kind of thing. The 1-story house on the north side is now going to pay higher heating bills in the winter because his neighbor has completely blocked out his southfacing sun. Why is this considered acceptable? And who issued a permit for such a thing?

Who can claim with a straight face that this is progress? What kind of progress demands that people, through no behavior of their own, use more energy and resources? If I was the neighbor on the north side of this ugly monstrosity I would be sending my heating bill to this developer.
